He also highlighted the work in the field of politics and geopolitics that Francisco Carrión has maintained as an Ecuadorian official.
Carrión held the diplomatic mission in the United States since December 22, 2017 and presented his credentials to the government of that country on January 24, 2018.
He is a diplomat with extensive experience : he has been Foreign Minister, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador to Spain and permanent representative to the UN.
During his administration the relations between both countries were normalized after the government of Rafael Correa.
Carrión sought to form a network of interests with the US. not only on the economic issue, but also terrorism, drug trafficking, climate change and migration.
