Ecuadornews:
Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno said today that he had asked presidential lawyers to study the procedures to replace Vice President Jorge Glas, now in pretrial detention, considering that “a person who is incarcerated, cannot hold office as vice president.”
“From my point of view, the country can not have a vice-president who is not able to exercise his functions. However, I have asked the team of lawyers for the procedures to be implemented to fill the absence of Mr. Vice President,” Moreno said. (I)
