Moreno says that a referendum will recover citizen participation and freedom

President Lenin Moreno said Monday that the call for a referendumm opens the door to revive the “spirit of civic engagement and freedom” in the country, by consulting key issues for the democratic consolidation.

Moreno welcomed the interest of various political, social, and civic organizations to join his electoral crusade: “We are committed to democracy, the government is for everyone, nothing is done for citizens without their pronouncement.”

“Until  September 26, we will receive the proposals for the referendum, and on October 2 we will announce the final content,” Moreno said in the weekly edition of “El Gobierno Informa.” (I)
