Municipality of Guayaquil is awaiting for the company that dredges Los Goles

Last Friday August 1, the Municipality of Guayaquil reopened the contest on the National Public Procurement Service website to find a company that takescharge of the stone obstacle Los Goles dredging, located in the access channel to the port system of the city.

Previously, on July 4, day of the end of the first term, the only proposal was submitted by the Belgian company Dredging International, whose technical and financial offer did not comply with the contract documents, reported the City through a statement.

The consultant company that performed the studies was convened by the Technical Commission of the Municipality to analyze the Belgian proposal and the technical criteria for other companies interested in participating in the process.

They determined “that the budget was very low for the work, since by the features of the rock, the dredgers should be specially designed for dredging hard material and rock, and marine climate conditions for its swell.”

 The benchmark amount is $ 11’539 571.97 and the value of $ 650 will be paid for each mile sailed over each of the dredges. The deadline was extended to 360 days.
