The 52 edition of the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar will begin tomorrow by opening its doors into the world of Hispanic music. In the region of Valparaiso the event has been developed since 1959. During this musical encounter artists like Alejandro Sanz, Sting, and Chayanne will participate among others.
They will perform in front of the Chilean audience will help pass the Silver Torch, the Golden Torch, and the Silver Gull to the most featured artist. The “monster,” as the audience is called will applause the best performer and this would help the artist to earn the award or not. During the 52 edition of the event there will be an especial section of two categories of International and folk music.
Meanwhile Marcelo Sandoval, the chief of Communications and Public Relations of Chilevision had the rights to broadcast the Vina del Mar Festival until 2014. Sandoval stated that the concerts of six days would be taped and broadcasted in High Definition.
Over a 100 million people of the world will watch the broadcast of the musical encounter. Last Friday to inaugurate the festival a celebration was held with the artists; among them was the Ecuadorian performer Fausto Miño. The artists paraded through the red carpet for the media and fans.
