Naciones Unidas Avenue, the street with the highest commercial leases in Ecuador
The most expensive rent for commercial premises in Ecuador are paid at the Naciones Unidas Avenue, in Quito, according to the “Main Streets Across the World,” a report prepared by the international consulting firm Cushman & Wakefield.
The report, which provides an overview of global trends of commercial properties in 2015 and 2016, reveals that the rent of premises in the Naciones Unidas Avenue amounts to 345 euros per square meter per year ($ 366).
Cushman & Wakefield crown the Fifth Avenue in New York as the commercial artery with the highest rents in the world; in this area, the annual price per square meter is € 33,812 ($ 35,900).
With regard to South America, the Florida pedestrian street, in Buenos Aires, is the most expensive, with an annual rent of 1,206 euros ($ 1,280) per square meter. In Argentina there are also three more streets (the Cabildo, Santa Fe and Callao avenues) which are among the commercial arteries of the region with the highest rents.
