Police seized 234 kilos of drugs and $ 40,000 in three operations
Three anti-narcotics raids carried out in the past 72 hours in Guayaquil, according to the police, allowed the seizure of 234 kilos of drugs and about $ 40,000.
The first case, called Techo (Roof), was discovered Monday in the seaport, where the Intelligence Unit of Ports and Airports and the Canine Training Center discovered 93 kilos of cocaine hidden in the ceiling of a container.
Deputy Interior Minister, Diego Fuentes, said that a company is being investigated for this crime. In total 82 blocks of drug were found.
A day later, during the ‘Green Mina’ operation, the police seized 141 kilos of marijuana from two men who were riding a car in the south of the city. Individuals were arrested.
Meanwhile, three Mexicans and an Ecuadorian, who allegedly wanted to structure a drug distribution center, were arrested in the Guayaquil downtown. They carried $ 40,000 cash.
