Nadia Mejia, daughter of singer Gerardo Mejía, will compete in the Miss USA beauty pageant

The daughter of Ecuadorian singer Gerardo Mejia will participate this Sunday in the Miss USA 2016, representing the state of California.

Last year, Nadia, 20, won the Miss California title and shares her experience after suffering from anorexia as the spokeswoman for the National Eating Disorder Association.

Mejia is one of the two Latin representatives in the contest along with Daniela Rodriguez, who represents Texas.
