‘Narco-Suitcase’ Case: Who is Jorge Redroban?
The name of this Ecuadorian, Jorge Redroban, first appeared on February 9, when the Ecuadorian Chancellor Ricardo Patiño announced that the Italian police discovered 40 kilos of liquid cocaine in a diplomatic suitcase, later known as the “narco-suitcase.”
Redroban is one of the people detained by the Italian officers, along with Cristian Loor and five more persons. It was known that Redroban organized large-scale events for Ecuadorians in Italy. Two years ago, Redroban organized the event Queen of Quito-Italy 2010, since then Redroban has been working closely with the Ecuadorian Consulate in Milan and its ambassador Narcisa Soria.
In the event or Queen of Quito-Italy, Loor, responsible for the play “Ruga la Tortuga” was Redroban main sponsor and coordinator of the event. According to the report of the courier of TNT, hired by the Ecuadorian Foreign Office, the diplomatic suitcase was destined to arrive to the Commercial Office in Milan.
