NASA Published a More Detailed Earth Map
Posted On 19 Oct 2011
The NASA in collaboration with Japan published an improved version of the topographic map of Earth. This detailed work was made with the instruments onboard of the North American satellite Terra.
The map was published for the first time in 2009, now it has over one million of images, 260 thousand of those images are new and with a tridimensional effect. Such detail allows identifying small lakes, seas and oceans.
NASA believes that this data can be used to plan road, energy exploration and urban planning. The map can be seen and used here. (AV)
