National Court qualifies as “malicious” the Anticorruption complaint against the Pacific Refinery
Judge of the National Court of Justice Marco Maldonado has shelved a complaint of the commissioners for an alleged overpricing in the assessment of a land of the Pacific Refinery and has described it as “malicious and reckless.”
In addition to welcoming the request of the Attorney General’s Office to close the process, Judge Maldonado also agreed with the National Audit Office to declare the complaint malicious and reckless, opening the door for a possible criminal prosecution against the commissioners.
Jorge Rodriguez, coordinator of the Commission admits he did not think that his complaint would be declared malicious and reckless. “That really undresses what is happening today with the citizen´s right to file complaints and oversee the actions of the Government.”
