With a bill of fifteen articles, two general provisions, two transitional provisions and derogations, the government plans to reform three standards related to the social security of the Armed Forces and the National Police.
Last Tuesday the draft ‘Reform Law of the Social Security Act of the Armed Forces, Social Security Act of the National Police and the Pensions Act of the Armed Forces,’ came to the Assembly, the same that is signed by President Rafael Correa, who highlights the need to amend the provisions because they contain “aberrant backlogs and heinous discrimination.”
He argues that the actuarial studies of the two institutions show that changes are required, with respect to the taxable salary, contributions, periods of time to access the benefits, in order to maintain sustainability.
