New investment will have special employment contract

The Government develops a new work modality. According to Labor Minister Raúl Ledesma, it is a contract for investment plans.
Withoutgoing into greater detail, he mentioned that those companies that generate newjobs will have special contracting modalities. “New money that entersEcuador, that generates new ventures, new jobs,” he said.
Last March, the regime announced that it expected an investment of around $ 14,000 million over a period of 5 years and in 2018 between $ 1,500 and $ 1,800 million.
DanielLegarda, president of the Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor), said that theproductive sector has proposed that there be more work dynamics to generatemore volume of recruitment and greater growth of companies.
Legarda added that companies reflect long before investing to grow in their businesses because of the labor issue. As an example, he said that the industry requires adaptability of work schedules.
Ledesma indicated that so far there has not been a single report of labor migration of work modalities from trade union centers or independent workers. These modalities have been designed for tourism, banana, floriculture, agriculture, livestock, manufacturing, development and software services.
Heargued that the current modalities are developing with “someslowness”, but that they will continue to spread them. (I)
