New mobile led protector that prevents damage in retinas

As a result of several investigations conducted by scientists from the University Complutense in Spain, it obtained a new screen protector for Smartphone and tablets that protect human eyes from the harmful effects that the LED emits light to the retina of people.

According to Dr. Celia Sánchez-Ramos, head of the research, the results of experiments cells were exposed retinal pigment epithelium from human donors to direct LED light of different intensity for 72 hour circadian cycle.

A 93% of the cells died when they were not protected, whereas the survival reached 90% when introduced a protective filter.

This eye shield was named as Reticare and is already on sale in Spain.
