Arthur Brown, United States ambassador to Ecuador, highlighted the work of the Foreign Ministry to advance cooperation issues.

Arthur Brown, new United States ambassador to Ecuador, met this Wednesday, June 19, with Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld.
At the meeting, Brown gave him copies of the credentials and they had a brief dialogue, according to information shared by the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry.
In this dialogue, the diplomat “highlighted the work of the Foreign Ministry to advance bilateral cooperation,” according to what the United States Embassy in Ecuador published on its social networks.
The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry added that Brown “highlighted the excellent level of the bilateral relationship.”
The new ambassador had already mentioned that “Ecuador is a strategic partner for the United States in South America, as democratic governance is under pressure throughout the region.”
Arthur Brown takes over the Ecuadorian Embassy, replacing Michael Fitzpatrick. He is a career member of the United States Foreign Service, with the rank of Minister Counselor.
From 2021 to 2022 he was Minister Counselor at the United States Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe. From 2020 to 2021 he was USAID Mission Director in Zimbabwe.
