North Korea seeks to be recognized as a Nuclear State

Kim Jong Un
North Korea reiterated its demand to be recognized as a nuclear power, saying it is a prerequisite to start a dialogue with the United States.
A commentary in the official North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun, rejected as “totally unacceptable” U.S. a demand that North Korea agrees to abandon its nuclear weapons program and missiles before starting talks.
The newspaper said that all negotiations with North Korea in the table should be between “nuclear weapons states.” For its part, the United States said that they will never accept North Korea, which conducted its third nuclear trial in February, as a nuclear power.
After a month of nuclear tensions on the Korean Peninsula, South Korea, United States and North Korea showed signs of a dialogue possibility.
