North Korea threatens the U.S. with nuclear strike on the White House
North Korea threatened to launch a nuclear attack on the White House and the Pentagon in response to recent U.S. military exercises in the Peninsula that included the transfer of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.
“Our troops will fire our nuclear-armed rockets at the White House and the Pentagon – the sources of all evil,” said Hwang Pyong-so, head of the political bureau of the North Korean Army in statements to state media.
Hwang made the new threat on Sunday, during a meeting of military authorities in Kumsusan Palace in the capital, Pyongyang, EFE reports.
The North Korean military representative also placed as targets of his nuclear weapons, the “military bases in the Pacific and all major cities in the United States.”
He promised that the offensive will occur if the United States threatens the “sovereignty and survival (North Korea) with nuclear powered aircraft carrier and means for a nuclear attack.”
