Number of infected with the AH1N1 virus climbed to 51

The under-secretary for health surveillance of the Ministry of public health (MSP), Norma Armas, reported that the two persons who were diagnosed with the AH1N1 flu remain stable and in isolation in the room of infectious diseases of the Enrique Garces Hospital of Quito.
Doctors from this health centre indicated that they expected to open another isolation ward in the Emergency Department, if new cases arrive from other hospitals.
These measures are part of the Contingency Plan to manage the presence of this epidemic, which, according to data of the MSP, already has infected 51 and caused the death of 3, also in October, will begin the vaccination campaign against the AH1N1.
