Barack Obama, the famous U.S. president could veto new sanctions against Iran if the Congress approves. The announcement was made after a group of legislators from the White House introduced a text about it.
Around 26 senators, both Democrats and Republicans, presented a bill to impose sanctions on Iran regarding its nuclear program, if this violates the interim agreement obtained in Geneva.
“If it were to pass (the project), the president will veto it,” stated the White House spokesman, Jay Carney. At the same time explained that the legislation was “unnecessary” because if an agreement were not achieved, the Congress would have no problem approving it quickly and assured that the White House will impose more severe sanctions.
