Ten days before the deadline for the preliminary inquiry, investigations into the alleged crime of illicit association in Odebrecht’s corruption case in Ecuador are intensifying.

By provision of Attorney General Carlos Baca, four procedures were completed yesterday. In Guayaquil, the offices and facilities of TV Satelital and Odebrecht were recognized, while in Quito, experts also went to the premises where the Brazilian construction company works. While the recognition, exhibition, and extraction of the information contained in a 32 GB USB were made in the Criminalistics Directorate.

The device was delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office last Monday, by Alfredo A., a former assistant of the principal person involved in this case (the uncle of Vice President Jorge Glas, Ricardo Rivera). During his early testimony given on Wednesday, Alfredo A. said that the portable memory contains extensive information on the activities of Ricardo Rivera: emails, videos, chats, audios, and texts.
