Operating in Guayas against criminal organizations leaves 16 detainees

16 people arrested, including a member of the Police on active duty, was the result of an operation against criminal organizations registered in early hours of Wednesday in Guayaquil and El Triunfo, Guayas Province, both the Prosecution and the Interior Minister José Serrano, unveiled the information in their respective Twitter accounts.
During the operation, which involved agents of the Prosecution, the anti-crime Intelligence Unit (UIAD for its Spanish acronym) and the Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR), 14 homes were raided and cash money, firearms and vehicles were seized.
The alleged criminal organization was supposedly dedicated to assault, robbery and hired killings, the prosecution said.
