Opposition groups met in Loja
Yesterday political and social leaders met in Loja to build a proposal for the country. This is the fourth and final point of the called ‘Commitment of Loja’ signed by the participants and whose core issue was the package of amendments to the Constitution.
The meeting was attended by political leaders like Cesar Montufar, president of the Concertacion movement; Cesar Monge, president of the CREO movement; former assembly members Betty Amores and Fausto Cobos; the former governor of Guayas Francisco Jimenez; former lawmaker Freddy Bravo, among others.
The Prefect of Zamora Chinchipe, Salvador Quishpe; and the Vice Prefecta of Loja, Nivea Velez did not attend the meeting.
Ernesto Gallo, organizer of the event, highlights this first meeting and says it will not be the last. He aims to coordinate and organize other events in due course and hopes that the call for unity and dialogue finds an echo.
