Orlando Ibarra was Sold By Criminals to ELN
The Ecuadorian ambassador in Colombia, Raul Vallejo reinforced importance of the joint operations with state organisms such as FF.AA. of both countries to ensure the life of the Ecuadorian, who first was kidnapped by a criminal group and then “sold” to the ELN.
“Today is a very important day because it has being achieved that… Orlando Sigifredo Ibarra is now free. Orlando Ibarra was kidnapped in Ipiales on August 2 of 2010. The kidnapping was hard since the family company was attacked, as well as several locals of Ipiales,” stated Vallejo.
The joint work began shortly after Orlando Ibarra’s father, Sigifredo Ibarra, on January 31 of this year, Vallejo took the case to the Ministry of Defense of Colombia, so the FF.AA. help them. Since then several operations have been coordinated.
Finally Vallejo assured that “that there are no more Ecuadorians that remain kidnapped by the guerrilla or paramilitary groups.” AV
