“Outraged” in Washington Will Be Evicted
Posted On 28 Jan 2012
Washington DC Authorities warned on Saturday “Occupy DC” camps, they were informed that on Monday regulations that prevent settlements in city parks will be made and those who are against it will be arrested.”People can be here 24 hours a day, but can not live here, can not sleep here. What we have tried to do is to use progressive measures and monitored for people to comply with the ordinances,” said Carol Johnson, spokesman for the National Park Service (NPS).
Since last October there are nearly 100 tents in the camps of Freedom Plaza, McPherson Square, full of manifestants who joined the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, denouncing the excesses of capitalism and deregulation in large corporations.
Washington camps, just three blocks from the White House are the only ones remaining in the country after the police evicted the vast majority, as the U.S. capital’s parks are not managed by district authorities Columbia, but by the government agency that coordinates the system of national parks in the country.
