Over 240 Injured After Train Clash in Shanghai

Today two trains in Shanghai, China, crashed with each other due to a signal system failure. At least 262 passengers had minor injuries. The crash occurred at 14h51 (06h51 GMT, 01h51 in Ecuador).
The malfunction occurred for a period of 30 minutes before the collision in the Lao Ximen station of line 10. The subway personal guided the trains by phone and ordered them travel with lower speeds, some witnesses said that they traveled at a velocity of 10 km per hour.
After the accident the victims were committed into hospitals with several head injuries. 20 people are being treated with aggravated wounds. A total of 500 people were traveling in both trains when the crash occurred. (AV)
