Over 500,000 worshipers in the procession of Cristo del Consuelo in Guayaquil

In one of the largest demonstrations of the Catholic faith held on Good Friday, hundreds of thousands of Guayaquil citizens, make penance recalling the passage of Jesus to his Calvary, on his way to his crucifixion.

Several agencies helped to maintain order during the Procession.

From 08:30 in the morning, parishioners with the image of Christ move down through the Lizardo Garcia and Francisco Segura streets, south of Guayaquil. To the north, another procession is being held from the church of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

The day concluded with a Mass offered by Archbishop Antonio Arregui outside the Holy Ghost Church.
