Ricardo Patino talks about espionage in Ecuadorian embassy

Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino, confirmed yesterday that the Embassy of Ecuador in London was spied and requested the United Kingdom to undertake an investigation, this is in the middle of the spy scandal of the former CIA analyst Edward Snowden, who is wanted by the USA.

During a press conference, Patino revealed a listening device that had been discovered last June 14 in the Ecuadorian ambassador’s office, this was two days before his visit to that city, where he met his English colleague.

The equipment was hidden in a box of an electrical outlet, Patino said the British-made appliance, and it works with a dial card. Initial investigations revealed and the name of the British company Surveillance Group Limited, which is one of the largest companies of “covert surveillance” in the UK.

“We infer that what is sought (through this listening) was to have direct information” the office of the then ambassador of Ecuador, Ana Alban said Patino who reported that “today” was delivered the request to the British Government’s for support inthe investigation into the alleged espionage.
