Patiño will receive to Jacobson to prepare John Kerry’s visit
Assistant Secretary of State for Latin American Affairs, from U.S., Roberta Jacobson, will meet with Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, the next June 5 to prepare the visit of the head of U.S. diplomacy, John Kerry to Ecuador.
In earlier days, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister said that there is no certain date for the arrival of Kerry, but this would occur following a request for explanations from the own Patiño about military affairs and bilateral relations.
The Ecuadorian government demands the U.S. about a press release that warned of the alleged CIA involvement in the attack of Angostura in 2008 and the presence of a U.S. military group in Ecuador.
With Jacobson “We will talk about these same issues, but it we will advance a little more and thus we will prepare the coming of Mr. Kerry with whom (…) we will have to make some decisions about advancing the bilateral relationship with the United States,” said Patiño.
