Penipe Mayor delivers 45000 signatures to Rafael With You Always

Robin Velastegui Salas, mayor of the Penipe county, in the Chimborazo province, handed over 45000 support signatures to the ‘Rafael With You Always’ collective, led by Pamela Aguirre, which promotes the re-election of President Rafael Correa.

The big question that has come before this delivery is that Penipe is a county where about 7000 inhabitants currently live, only 2000 live in urban areas, according to projections based on the latest population census conducted in 2010.

That’s why the delivery of support signatures by Velastegui Salas has generated memes and criticism on Twitter, with the hashtag #FirmasPenipe (#SignaturesPenipe).

“The revolution has given us a lot,” the mayor had written in his Facebook account after announcing the delivery of the signatures.
