Perez’s Exit Poll Have Not Been Paid Yet by Media State

Gama TV and TC Televisión, both state networks, have not yet settled his debt to the company Santiago Perez Opinion and Studies, who conducted the exit poll on May 7th in the last Ecuadorian referendum.

Enrique Arosemena, general manager of Gama TV, said they have done as specified in the contract a down payment (60% of the total cost) and another installment on the Referendum Day (20%). The total cost specified by the pollster was $ 140 billion, of which 64% corresponded to the first media and the rest to the second one.

Currently the final payment (20%) is still pending. Arosemena said that the directive have not yet decided if the final payment will be done because the pollster would not have met with the error margin parameters determined in the contract (2.4% contrasted with the official count made by the National Electoral Council).
