Petroamazonas defends itself from criticism of his works in Yasuní
Petroamazonas explains it has complied with the environmental license to develop the Apaika and Nenke fields, in Block 31 at the Yasuni National Park.
“There are no roads in Block 31. In the site is built a10 meters wide way, which includes an operational ecological path of four meters wide, through which the necessary material for the facilities construction circulates. It is not a public road, it is not a free access area, “he said.
These statements were given yesterday, after a group of foreign academic researchers presented a study with satellite images that would show the environmental license was “violated”.
According to Petroamazonas, “In Block 31 it does not exist an oil processing plant, it does not exist a power plant, all the oil processing is performed off the field.”
