Plan of excellence of the University of Guayaquil is ready
Jorge Kalil, President of the Intervention Commission, yesterday presented a plan of excellence for the University of Guayaquil, in a ceremony at the University House, attended by Alfredo Palacio, former President of the Republic; Guillaume Long, Minister Coordinator of Human Talent; Rene Ramirez, Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation; and Enrique Santos, President of the Follow-up Intervention Commission.
Among the proposals to achieve and improvement are the reorganization of the academic offer, the increase from 128 to 600 MB of the bandwidth for Internet service, and the increase by 30% of the participation of women in teaching and management.
The excellence plan may be downloaded starting next week from the website of the Council of Higher Education; this 200-page document highlights the equipment of laboratories and the creation of a follow-up system for graduates.
Three cooperation agreements were signed during the ceremony: the first with the Ecuadorian Institute for Educational Credit and Scholarships, one with the National Telecommunications Corporation and the third with the Polytechnic School of the coast.
For his part, Lobeila Cisneros, responsible for the academic part of the speech, made the announcement that it will be carried out a model of internships or professional practices that will benefit the marginal, rural and urban sectors.
