Diego Pallero, photographer of daily El Comercio, was beaten by police police officers during an onslaught of agents against demonstrators protesting for the adoption of amendments on Thursday afternoon, December 3, near the park El Arbolito, in northern Quito.

The photographer was hit with batons in the ribs and chest, when he was making a report for El Comercio group. César Pasaca, a graphic chronicler, was one of those who helped Pallero. According to his description, they stopped the aggression when he realized it was a press photographer. At 18:15, Red Cross paramedics assisted the reporter, who was taken to a hospital.
