Pope Francis will arrive to Brazil tomorrow

Posted On 21 Jul 2013

The Pope will arrive to Rio de Janeiro and before a meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, he will parade through the center of the city.

The Pope will go to the Metropolitana Cathedral at 17:00, where he will parade by car until he reaches the Municipal Theater on a journey that may last half an hour.

The Pope will go to the Guanabara Palace, headquarters of the government of Rio de Janeiro, where he will meet with the country’s president and other top local politics; he will travel by helicopter for security reasons.

But the visit will have opposition. The so-called group Anonymous Rio and the Brazilian Association of Atheists and Agnostics (ATEA) have called for protests against the 53 million dollars of public money invested for the Pope’s visit and the organization of the World Youth Day.
