Pope Francis will meet for the first time with Benedict XVI
Pope Francis will fly tomorrow by helicopter from the Vatican to the Apostolic residence of Castel Gandolfo, to visit Benedict XVI, who resides in that place since he ceased to be Pope.
This is the first time that both Cardinals will meet since Francis was elected as the new Pope, but they have maintaining good communication by telephone.
During the last days the current Pope has said words of affection for Ratzinger in the middle of his speeches, to whom he referred as his predecessor, the “loved and revered Pope Benedict XVI” .
The past March 15 during the hearing that the Supreme Pontiff granted to the Cardinals, he stressed that Benedict XVI enriched the Church with his Magisterium of faith, humility and docility, he also called his resignation as a courageous and humble gesture.
Currently, similar to what Benedict XVI did, Pope Francis denounced the dictatorship of relativism, “which leaves each person as a measure of oneself and threatens coexistence among men”.
