“The Pope is Argentine, but God is Brazilian”
Dilma Rousseff, Brazil’s President, said after meeting with Pope Francis, in the Vatican, that the Pontiff will participate in the World Youth Day which will take place in her country, in July of the current year.
After being asked by an Argentine journalist, on the nationality of Francis, Rousseff said in a humorous tone: “you are lucky, it’s a great Pope… Now, people always say ‘the Pope is Argentine, but God is Brazilian’ “.
The President had time to stop for a moment to talk to the press after the meeting she had with Pope Francisco in the library of the Apostolic Palace which lasted approximately 30 minutes.
About their impressions of the Pope, Dilma Rouseff qualified him as a “very charismatic” person, who has a great commitment with the poor.
Rousseff is the second head of State, which meets with Francisco, since last Monday the Pontiff had lunch with the President of his native country, Cristina Fernández.
