This project was born over on 1983 with the help of the Ministry of Defense whose purpose was investigating the UFO phenomena. As of April of 2005 military and civilians work together. Thanks to the support of the Guayaquil City Hall and the Department of Tourism and International Relations.
Data de Posorja is the chosen site, since its one of the places that, according to statistics a large number of UFO have been seen. Many direction signs can be seen along the road, this area used to be only for surfing but now its also for UFO sighting.
Ecuador might become the fourth country that has a space designated for astro-tourism in the world; Chile and Puerto Rico already have a place for this purpose. Ufologist Jaime Rodríguez, president of Fundación Galilea is part of the project.
The city’s director of Tourism, Joseff Garzozi said that the beach known as Playa Varadero is going to be turned into Parque del Cosmos. The structure will count with a Ufo-dome, which will be for observation purposes and will have 17 telescopes donated by Fundación Galilea. There will also be a park with designs of world wonders, like the Egyptian Pyramids among other world attractions.
An Astronomy museum of five floors will hold 200 people, documentation on the UFO phenomena, a library, and several video documentary of the research of 23 countries. Garzozi said the terrain is ready and its construction is in talks.
