The director of the Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano (PRE) in Guayas, Emilio Espinoza, revealed that the political group has a plan B in case the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) did not rate the presidential candidacy of former President Abdala Bucaram Ortiz.
“Logically, the PRE has been working for all these months to find an alternative, a plan B is already designed because there are Ecuadorians who have sufficient merit to represent the Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano,” said Espinoza.
Espinoza explained that the PRE has 48 hours to register the new candidate in the worst of cases.
He also said that Ecuador is not independent in state branches, and that the government is the one who decides whether to accept the nomination of Bucaram or not. (MZ)
