The Caribbean country has lived for several weeks violent anti-Government protests that have left several deaths and hundreds injured.
“We are going to take a stand on the truth, and the truth is that the legitimate Government of Venezuela is the beleaguered, Nicolás Maduro is a humanist, and he would never be able to repress his own people, they are trying to destabilize him,” said Correa.
He also noted that in the student´s protests and opposition sectors registered in Venezuela “there is handling and external interference” and that “they are running millions of dollars” to finance demonstrations.
“What is the solution for Venezuela? To respect the rule of law, to respect the legitimately elected Government. In the case of the Government, to implement the law, respecting human rights but to apply the law, “said Correa.
