President Correa Declares January 02 as a Rest Day

Last night the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa announced that the Monday of January 02 of 2012 would be a mandatory day of rest for all the country.

The Ecuadorian president explained his decision during an interview in the public channel program ‘Palabra Suelta’. Since there are two holidays celebrated on weekends, Christmas and New Years Eve.

Correa pointed out that with the rest day, the Ecuadorians would attend their work and school activities with more energy on Tuesday of January 03. (AV)
