President Correa opened two health centers in Guayaquil
President Rafael Correa, accompanied by a delegation of ministers of the social area, inaugurated the morning of March 10, the first Shelter House “Juan Elias” in Guayaquil, which will provide health care to twenty seven young people who have passed the stage of detoxification and drug habits.
According to the Minister for Economic and Social Inclusion, Betty Tola, in the coming months five new shelters will be implemented in the country, after the death of Juan Elias, a 13-year who consumed the drug “H,” revealed the lack of care and support for young victims of drug addiction.
The Shelter “Juan Elias” has a computer lab, recreational areas, psychological training centers, family visit areas, nursing, bedrooms, green areas, kitchen and dining room.
In addition, the same delegation went to the Cisne 2, a popular area in the south west of Guayaquil for the opening of a health center type C that servesthe citizenship since March 10, providing obstetric services, one of the most necessary areas for the population of this sector.
