According to media reports and social networks users, on Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., President Rafael Correa ordered to stop the caravan in which he traveled. He did this to sort out a group of citizens, who would have disrespected him.
The incident happened when President Correa was supervising works of sewage, near the Parque de la Madre, in the Milagro county. After the incident, the political leader got out of the car, went to a food stand and asked for respect. “Are you screaming at me? You have to respect me, to respect me,” he would have said.
However, the group of people maintained that they did not shout anything against the Ecuadorian President, while the security members of the president captured the citizen, who allegedly would have made a bad signal.
According to information from Daily El Universo, those who were at the scene of the incident specified that the citizen arrested was not of the sector. There is no an official version yet.
In social networks, some photographs in which President Correa is observed inside a restaurant, where apparently he is addressing the group of people, who would have disrespected him, are circulating.
