President Correa will analyze Ecuador’s trade policy with ministers
Today, President Rafael Correa and his ministers will discuss trade policy decisions. The safeguards with Colombia and Peru will also be part of the debate, where the production front of government has two hours to show its achievements.
On the subject, Richard Espinosa, Coordinating Minister of Production, said that there are significant progress. In the coming days, he expects, the achievement of the agreements on the tariffs set by Ecuador earlier this year. For Colombia, the amount is 21% and in the case of Peru is 7%.
At the meeting it will be also discussed the reduction in imports by the substitution plan. In 2014, state policies reduced purchases from abroad in 250 million. A total of 19.237 million dollars were imported.
Advances in investment and technology transfers will be also reviewed. At the same time, a group of businessmen will hold meetings to question the scope of trade policy.
