President Lenin Moreno receives support from more than 180 mayors

The Association of Municipalities of Ecuador delivered their support to President Lenin Moreno and his popular consultation proposal. More than 180 mayors signed the document.

On the morning of this Monday, November 27, 2017, most of the members of the Association of Municipalities of Ecuador arrived in Quito to accompany the President in the Changing of the Guard, and later entered the Palace of Carondelet to have lunch with him.

Daniel Avecilla, president of the Association of Municipalities of Ecuador, said that they have held meetings with the mayors throughout the country and that the majority support the regime and that is why the Association as such has already pronounced itself in favor of the consultation.

The mayor of Guaranda, Ramses Torres, said that the mayors who support President Moreno “are not going to allow it to destabilize and take advantage of the current situation to destabilize this democratic regime.”

The Manager of the Development Bank, Wilson Mayorga, was also in the Change of Guard and in the meeting with Moreno since  mayors made certain actions with this entity. For example the extension of deadlines and quotas to finance projects in the cantons. In the Banquet Hall, President Moreno thanked the mayors for their support. (I)
