President Daniel Noboa spoke this Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

This was reported this Tuesday, April 16, 2024, by President Daniel Noboa in Guayaquil. The Head of State, in a public event, indicated that the corresponding complaint has been filed with the Prosecutor’s Office.

“We have initiated an investigation for sabotage. There has been sabotage in certain power plants. We are not going to allow that to happen. They do it, out of misery, the last week before the Popular Consultation, because they know that they had lost it. This investigation is not going to rest. We have already presented it to the Prosecutor’s Office and the CIES (Intelligence Center) is already working on it. Any person involved will be considered, not only a traitor to the Homeland, but a threat to national security,” he noted.

President Noboa also said that this week there will be no more blackouts.

“No one is going to tell me at the last second that we must give Guayas a five-hour blackout,” he mentioned.

Hence, he said that there will be no more blackouts this week and announced that the Government will cover 50% of the electricity bills for this month of April.
