President of the `Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo´ finds her grandson after four decades
Estella de Carlotto, 83, President of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, found her grandson Guido of 36, kidnapped during the military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983), after searching him for nearly four decades.
Laura, Estela’s daughter and mother of Guido, would have turned 60 if she had not been killed at 24, when she belonged to `Los Montoneros´ guerrilla organization.
Estela did not know that Laura was pregnant when she was abducted. `But there was one released woman who had the nerve to tell us she was six months pregnant back in April 78. And she was expecting that baby, and that if it was a boy she was going to name him like his grandfather, Guido,´ commented on Friday, August 1.
She started to look for her grandson everywhere. Any word of hatred or revenge was never heard from her mouth, she only asked justice. She became a world reference in defense of human rights. Many of her friends and companions of struggle began to die, but she kept searching. Until grandson 114 appeared and it turned out it was hers.
Guido is a musician and lives in Olavarria, a locality of Buenos Aires locality. The tests determined that there is a 99% chance to be the grandson of Estela de Carlotto.
