Procedures against trading houses by sale of kits
The Undersecretariat of Commercialization of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (Magap) had a standoff with suppliers, that culminated in proceedings in the Superintendency of Market Power. These proceedings continue, although Under Secretary Carol Chehab and the companies already solved the problem of the so called starter kits, which are sold at lower prices.
In mid-December 2015 she sent a harsh letter to suppliers of agricultural inputs. “Knowing that Apcsa associates (Association of Crop Protection and Animal Health) are marketing, on their own, technological packages that are not part of the Cooperation Agreement signed with the Magap, I am addressing you, as legal representative of the aforementioned association, to show that this commercial practice is misrepresenting and distorting the market, it is prohibited … ” says the official letter sent to Felipe Juan Gonzalez, executive director of Apcsa.
