The Nation´s General Prosecutor, Galo Chiriboga, revealed this Monday that Erwin Vivar Palma is the person whose name was listed as “disappeared” by the Fybeca case, which was found in Venezuela and has been brought to Ecuador to declare the process as a protected witness.
Police have never accepted that they retained Vivar. The current version of the Prosecution, is that it was captured by agents in the Fybeca pharmacy at the Alborada citadel, in Guayaquil, on November 19, 2003, which was later transferred to the Judicial Police of Guayas, where he was allegedly tortured and thrown into the Estero Salado, along with another detained, Johnny Gómez Balda.
