Prosecutor´s Office accused Jorge Glas and 12 other people involved in unlawful association

In an extensive exhibition, Attorney General Carlos Baca Mancheno accused Vice President Jorge Glas, as well as other 12 people involved in the Odrebecht case, who illegally benefitted from 5 millionaire state contracts in Ecuador.
In the second day of the trial preparation hearing, Baca said that the Vice President allegedly obtained $ 13.1 million through his uncle, Ricardo Rivera, former Comptroller General Carlos Polit, Ramiro C., Diego C., Ricky D., Gustavo M., Carlos V., Kepler V., José T., Edgar A., Venezuelans Fredy S. and Alexis A., who, according to Baca, would have negotiated $36 million in kickbacks.
Carlos Baca presented 24 elements of conviction based on analysis of recordings, testimonies, and documents to accuse the 13 people perpetrators of the crime of unlawful association. In the case of the Vice President, Baca laid out 28 elements of conviction that would be, in case the judge determines the call to trial, evidence of guilt of the crime. (I)
