Prosecutor´s office notifies Noriega on the process by death of guerilla fighter of Alfaro Vive
The Attorney General´s office notified “Manuel Antonio Noriega, former dictator of Panama (1968-1989)” on the criminal proceeding against him in relation to the death of Fausto Arturo Jarrin in 1986, leader of the extinct subversive group Alfaro Vive Carajo (AVC) during the eighties.
According to the prosecution, a protected witness testified that Noriega had ordered the arrest of Jarrin in Panama and his surrender to the authorities of Ecuador.
This is an investigation on crimes against humanity, in which crimes of illegal detention, torture and extrajudicial execution are prosecuted, the Attorney General´s office stated in a communiqué.
On July 27, the National Court of Justice (CNJ) of Ecuador linked Noriega and four other people: Jose V. and Oswaldo M., both retired generals of the Police, retired colonel of the Police Pedro C. And retired colonel of the Army Fausto P.
